HISTORY In our school, we teach our history lessons with the perspective of "those who do not know their past cannot direct their future" and by instilling in our students the awareness that history repeats itself. We carry out our lessons through the smart board application and the notebook-book work we have prepared. With maps, historical photographs, interesting footnotes and questions, we keep students' interest and curiosity alive. By abstracting from the prejudice that history is seen as a rote and boring lesson, we try to guide our students not only with a teacher-centered narrative but also by enriching their self-confidence, interpretation ability and perspectives. With the leaf tests we apply at the end of the unit, we enable the student to reinforce their knowledge and make it permanent. We are raising young people who know that history is not just a lesson, but the importance of raising a generation with a general culture and history awareness in life. |

RELIGION COURSE This lesson is Taught by Considering the Necessity of the Age within the Understanding of Contemporary Civilizations. Religious education in our school is a course where the emotional dimension can come to the fore and students can be taught religious and national values. One of these values is respect for human dignity. For success in education, students must be made to feel valued, loved, encouraged and self-confident. General purpose of Religion and Ethics education: To provide students with sufficient basic knowledge about the general objectives and principles of Islamic Religion and moral knowledge in line with the Turkish National Education Policy in basic and secondary education; thus, to ensure the development of Kemalism, national unity and solidarity, love of humanity, religious and moral aspects, and to raise people with good morals and virtues. Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Course Teaching-Teaching Methods and Techniques When we look at the general objectives of the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge curriculum, it is seen that there are also aims to provide students with universal values along with teaching religious and moral knowledge. When we examine some of the teaching methods and techniques of the course; It has been observed that the use of the case study method before starting the subject increases the level of readiness of the students. The case study method is a method in which learning is ensured by the active participation of students in the event that is encountered in life and involves a problem, and by the students expressing their ideas about the causes of the problematic event and offering solutions. The case study method is a way of teaching based on the fact that after an event or problem is explained in writing or orally or shown as a movie, students discuss the subject and put forward their solutions and suggestions. It would be more beneficial to use techniques such as visual and video, demonstration and in-class practice on subjects such as worship, cleanliness, the existence of God, and the life of the Prophet, and to adopt verbal methods and techniques such as puzzles, narration, question and answer, and brainstorming on more abstract subjects (angels, the hereafter, etc.). It was observed that the students were satisfied with the puzzles, video watching and educational game methods and did not get bored with them. With my respect and love... |
TURKISH LITERATURE Our Department of Turkish Language and Literature sets excellence in education and educating students who can use their mother tongue competently as its primary mission in line with the objectives of Toros Schools. From this point of view, our first goal is to strengthen the written and oral communication skills of our students. While it is aimed to raise our students as individuals who have developed critical and analytical thinking, ability to look at issues from different perspectives, and social intelligence, and are committed to Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions, we attach importance to the fact that our students are students who have both assimilated and empowered their national culture in the context of the understanding of "multifaceted culture" and can establish strong ties with the universal culture. Although our department is based on the Ministry Of Education curriculum, we both enrich the national curriculum and make it more efficient with some arrangements, book selections, selections and course practices. In particular, students can realize permanent and portable learning thanks to the fact that students are active in the process of teaching the subjects, doing research and lessons taught in a student-teacher manner in a student-teacher cooperation. Since the program we implement covers all the curriculum subjects that may appear in the university exam, it is ensured that the students are able to answer the Turkish and Turkish Language and Literature questions to be directed to them, while the "Critical Reading and Creative Writing" course with its school-specific curriculum aims to provide our students with both writing skills and critical thinking skills. |
